Hi Lily,

Well, it's just a private house so usually you'd need to meet someone before getting a room. If there is room, though, you're almost 100% sure to get one as long as you don't seem like a total freak. To contact them, try "Viva La Casa Loca" on facebook or stop by Salsa Rosa while you are in town. (Salsa Rosa is at Diagonal 11 and 8 Calle, the owner Ciomara also runs the house.)

Other options for houses include Yoga House and Entremundos.

I don't know how long you are going to Xela for though, to stay in one of these houses usually you'd have to be staying for a couple months or more.

Another good option is Hostal Don Diego. It's in a fabulous location, and has a really cheap monthly rate. It's a good place to meet people since a lot of the people staying there are there for awhile (most people i know were staying there for a month)

Hope this isn't intrusive.. but upon my mindless google searching for Xela information, I stumbled on your blog entries.. lovely posts. I am going to Xela in May, so I am trying to find different living options-- would you happen to have any contact information on Casa Loca? It seems like a wild place to live haha..
Thanks so much, happy travels.
