Going home for a while can have its perks.
Now that I’m back in Guatemala I am seeing the country with fresh eyes.
I was driving from Guatemala City to Xela yesterday, and I couldn’t help but thinking, over and over again: This is such a beautiful country. How did I ever take it for granted?
I got back to Xela last night, and I am leaving in a week. That gives me very little time to say hello and goodbye. I am trying to take this time remember what it is that made me fall in love with this city, even if maybe I’ve fallen a little bit out of love since then.

I sure hope you keep traveling and writing consistently. I discovered and bookmarked your blog a few weeks before the “blow this pop stand” post, and was a bit disappointed by it. Glad you got some “fresh eyes” recently.
Where/from where was the third photo above taken?

Sorry to disappoint you with that post but I’m getting back into blogging now. I think I just needed a quick break.
Thanks for your comment!
