On my way to Flores today. I’ve spend four months in Guatemala and now I’m finally going to Tikal.
Yesterday night I was sitting in a bar in Antigua (Kafka) with some friends.
The bartender (with a proper English accent) asked me: “Are you in the Peace Corps?”
“Uhhh,” I said. “I’m not even American.”
“Oh, Canadian. You just look like you are in the Peace Corps,” he said and walked off.
A few minutes later I asked him “what does someone in the Peace Corps look like?”
“Oh, they just look like they live here,” he said.
“Phew. I was worried you were going to say ‘idealistic and naive.’”
